Ubuntu 9.10 Official Release

Hey there, geeks, reading this 🙂

Few days ago I wanted to install a clean copy of the new Ubuntu – Karmic Koala. I’ve told you that I love it, right? The beta and later the RC were working just fine, but I wanted to have the the fresh final release.

I downloaded from ubuntu.com the ubuntu-9.10-desktop-i386.iso file and burned it on a cd-rw I’ve been using a lot.
After I rebooted and tried to install, some errors occurred on the screen and I thought it mightbe from the cd. yeah – I picked up a brand new cd-rw and then made a md5 check – everything was fine.
Installed normally directly from disk – without “trying” first on “my computer without any changes” 😛

It installed perfectly fine.

After that I wanted to try if there was a problem with the kernel because there was a bug after resuming from suspend or hibernate. I don’t know what it was but it was annoying.
That was the main reason to reinstall.
The error appeared again and after that the kernel started crashing even more often that it crashed before. That was very odd.

Oh yeah, the kernel was: Kernel Linux 2.6.31-14-generic

The same as the one I use now. I reinstalled again…
Things were going fine since then. I don’t know what or where was the problem.

But I had a lot of software waiting to be installed….
Wait for the next post!
