Dogs’ life

Lexi was a young and wild little piece of heaven, as his mother used to call him. He liked to play outside with the other puppies in the neighborhood. They loved him and he loved them. The warmth and joy that was spreading around together with their laughter was as enchanting and calming as a mother’s touch on a baby’s face. The little puppies in the block weren’t very loud, nor impossible to hear. They were having lots of fun and they were uninterrupted. So happy, you may never say you have been, as they were there, playing games just around the corner, bothering nobody. Actually, as you may have already guessed, it was a magical blessing for the loving family to have such a good little dog. Mother Dilia was really happy and she knew that her puppy will be a great dog one day. She loved to watch them play and think about the future, project the beautiful moments now into even more beautiful in the coming days. As a teacher in the local school, she was very well know and respected lady in town. The other puppies loved her and her really good liver-cookies that she made for them every Sunday. Recipes like this you can only find in an old book like the one Lexi’s grandmother gave to her daughter. Father Lakon was a working dog. He loved his family, but he was always very tired when he comes home. He also played with the little puppies when he had time.

And there it is. The inevitable happened. Little Lexi grew up. He wasn’t the puppy that everybody knew. He changed. He looks different now, he acts different. Mother still thought that she has her little puppy around her. But her puppy was already a dog that wanted to do something with his life. He had a dream now. Playing in the neighbourhood was not as funny and joyful as it was in the past. So grew up his friends…
With Lexi and the gang, the whole block changed. Nothing was the same any more. The streets became very quiet, only wind was playing with the leaves of the old oak tree where little puppies played every night before dawn. Mother and father were worried. They knew something bad is going to happen. Lexi locked himself up in his dog room, because his bitch girlfriend dumped him for his best friend, because he was barking better at the cats from the next neighbourhood.
However, Lexi wanted his bitch back. After sometime he actually realised what a bitch-bitch means, when he saw his friend coming to his house like a defeated cat, telling the story of his misery how Mia was gone with an older dog. They drank a few Doggers, good local beer, made in a village nearby. Bros before hoes.
Few months later Lexi left home. Whatever he had in his cat-case, he took it. He wanted to start over. All this seemed like too little for him. Living in the same neighbourhood for him just didn’t sound as good as it sounded when he was a little puppy. Mother was both happy and very sad, because she knew this day would come and her little child will leave her. She knew it, so she kissed her son goodbye with a kiss so warm and loving that a tear escaped Lexi’s eye involuntarily. He wiped it very fast so nobody can see it. But everyone felt it…
On his great trip he found a lot of friends. Discovered new territories, new dog-cultures. Now he was experienced and more wise. He settled in the north, they said that the bitches there are really good looking and he must definitely get one of those as his beloved wife. He didn’t believe this himself, but he needed some time to think and plan his next adventure. So the idea he got from a friend, who he travelled a lot with, sounded like the right thing to do at the moment.
During the years Lexi became a more responsible dog, he had to do all the things his mother did for him, in the first place, and then starting to live and work on his own. But he never stopped playing, he loved to party now as there was no tomorrow. As a traveller he found many bitches everywhere. He enjoyed their company, so did they.
Sitting in his room, planning the diabolic trip to the south, he had no idea what is he going to find and experience during his next trip….
to be continued…
