Today I finished the skeleton construction of the website and added a lot of new information.
Mainly I build up my portfolio page and added some more software projects I was working on recently in the “Projects” section as well as in my portfolio.
I also added the new +1 button which I was very excited about, but it turned out that the standard procedure for that is to add a script to the page (which Google Sites forbids). So I added the button through a gadget I found on the internet, but that is not the best solution. I had to add the button inside the home page and not in the sidebar because the sidebar cannot have gadgets.
There are many other things that I would like to change now on my web site, but I cannot because of Google Sites. I know, I know, I should have thought about that earlier! But here I am again, with the big question:
Should I change to a paid webhosting and use whatever I want for my website, instead of using Google Sites?
I really don’t know yet, but I am definitely going to stay with this version for now. I am a webprogrammer as well but I use Google Sites. How does that sound?
EDIT: The +1 button is official from Google now, not a script I found on The Internet 🙂 So the data is reset right now. Please +1 me again 😛
