I still can’t believe it I am using the same laptop for such a long time. I started to like it more and more every time I fix it. Things sometimes just go wrong with it 🙂
Laptop repaired parts and problems:
- 2 hinges broken – 1 fixed. The other one is so loose, the lid cannot be closed.
- Burnt WD harddrive – bought a new one Seagate 320GB
- Burnt charger – warranty covered it in the last month. (Lucky me!)
- Burnt charger cable. Fixed it yesterday. I cut the cable and reconnected it.
- 2 dead batteries. Original one (6cells). One from eBay (9cells).
- 1 dead USB. I have no idea how that happened, it just did one day.
- Lid is quite damaged from hitting and falling + fixing the hinges.
- Stickers all over it 🙂 I love it for that.
- Keyboard is really worn out. I would like to buy a new one 🙂
- You have to pick it up normally. There is a specific way, otherwise it freezes and you have to restart. Today it happened to be a BIOS reset that brought it back to life! I was really scared.
- Multiple fan cleaning procedures! Every month!
Other than that it runs Windows 7 and Linux Mint 11.04
I am really happy with my laptop 🙂
