Today started as usual at the IT service, but our teacher Poul came and wanted us to help him with his class. They couldn’t configure LeJOS, Eclipse and LeJOS nxj plugin to work correctly together. Me and Boris went to show the class how is the stuff done. Everything worked like a charm. Of course the tutorial from LeJOS is not full enough and it doesn’t work only if you follow its instructions. Tutorial here.
Poul left after he explained that we will help the students. So we helped them and finished our work at around 9:00. O’clock, it took around an hour. Then we returned to the IT Service Office. It was closed for the day. (Probably because we weren’t there this morning).
Lars (another IT teacher) came and asked us if we can do the same work for his classes. They started at 10:15 and ended at 11:45. We did everything work smoothly on every computer and then we went for a lunch break.
After the lunch break we didn’t do much. I write this right now and I should start reading about LDAP, because I need to use it the program I am going to develop for the IT Service.
VIA SHORT MESSAGE SYSTEM
The programs must be deployed to the stationary computers around the university and must be able to received messages through LAN that are sent from the Administrator. It must use LDAP to find the IP range the message must be sent to. In case there is a problem just in one block in the university, the message will be sent only to those computers.
So far the program is created to check every 5 seconds if an XML file on a server is created and show the message if the message is new.
So far I am very tired, I just feel like a bus hit me, probably i’s a bit because of the weather, I don’t know.
I’m so glad the weekend starts…
